Excellent hotel in the center of Bath. Close to Roman Bath and the Abbey. Many good stores close by.
Very good breakfast, more or less cooked to order.
Bar life could be better, but drinks are good.

I arrived at the hotel around 8 p.m. The initial room I checked into had visible stains on the mattress and futon (which looked a bit like throw up). The curtains had cobwebs as well. I brought up the issues to the receptionist who assigned me a different room.
However, the second room also had stains on the futon and the pillow had a bloodstain that looked like it could be from bedbugs. As someone who has dealt with bedbugs before, I was not going to risk it. The rooms just overall did not feel clean to me. The vents also looked super dusty.
After finding these issues, I returned to the receptionist and requested a cancellation of my room and a refund. He stated that his manager suggested that I call or email customer service in the morning for the full refund since it was late at night. I checked out and returned the key to the receptionist and booked a room at a different hotel down the street, which was much better.
The emails that the receptionist provided did not work as my emails bounced back. I reached out to Premier Inn via Whatsapp (per the instructions on their website). Turns out, they cannot accept any new chats. So I'm not really sure why Whatsapp is even an option for customer service.
I filled out the form on their website to "provide feedback". I got a response several days later, but I was denied a refund because "I had stayed the night" despite the fact that I had checked out soon after I checked in. I replied back to this email clarifying the situation. I got another response a few days later with the same exact language from the first email. They didn't even bother to add a subject line to the email, so it just says "(No subject)".
It's located in a very nice and convenient area, but I expected a bit more than this from a hotel with a rating over 4 stars.

Id say it’s rather overpriced. The staff are friendly, the location is amazing in all fairness. But the rooms desperately need updating. My partner smelt urine in the bathroom, as you can see the sofa/bed/chair is dirty. The walls were peeling in the bathroom. Just overall felt really old and tired. I posted pictures of the plug sockets not because it’s a major issue but just shows the lack of care the room has. I’d consider stopping elsewhere if I was to come back.

An overnight stay to meet up with friends. Hotel is right near the centre, just a 5-10 minute walk from everything. Lots of dining options right on the doorstep. The staff were all very welcoming, pleasant and helpful. There is a left luggage room - we left our things there so we could go for lunch before checkin at 3. The room was spacious with a very comfortable bed, a bath and shower. It could do with a bit of updating, but that was just cosmetic. A few chipped wooden bits (eg the bathroom door and the wooden chair) and it could do with a coat of paint in places. I would have liked to be able to open the window but they are sealed shut and there is an air flow system providing fresh air. Breakfast was plentiful and well cooked. The checkin lady had reserved a table for our party of 5. A friend requested vegetarian bacon and sausages which were freshly cooked for him.
